This note marks the 36th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the birthday of the late President Kaysone Phomvihane. The obverse prominently displays a portrait of President Kaysone Phomvihane, a key figure in modern Lao history. To his right is the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong temple, one of Laos' most important and beautiful Buddhist temples, located in Luang Prabang. The national Coat of Arms of Laos is also featured.
The reverse highlights Laos' development, showcasing the Seset 2 hydroelectric dam, symbolizing the nation's progress in energy infrastructure. The denomination is clearly printed in Lao script and numerals.
Printed by the Bank of the Lao PDR, this banknote includes security features such as a solid security thread demetallized with Lao text and a watermark of Kaysone Phomvihane.
